Module 4: Supporting Complex Needs & Collaboration

Module 4: Putting It All Together: Supporting Complex Needs & Collaboration

Introduction to the Module

In this final core module, we bring all your learning together. You have established a neuro-affirming mindset, mastered the practitioner’s toolkit, and learned to engineer supportive environments. Now, we apply these skills to some of the more complex situations you will encounter. We will explore solution-focused approaches to anxiety and demand avoidance, and focus on the vital skill of collaborating effectively with the wider team around the child to ensure a consistent, unified approach to support.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this module, you will be able to:

  1. Apply solution-focused strategies to support pupils experiencing anxiety and demand avoidance, using the DDP as a guide.
  2. Analyse the principles of fostering genuine social understanding and connection, moving beyond traditional ‘social skills’ training.
  3. Develop clear and effective communication strategies for collaborating with teachers, SENCos, and families to create a consistent support network.
  4. Create a personal action plan for your continued professional development as a Dynamic Neuro-Support Practitioner.
